Red scarf pattern in English
The red scarf is a soft and warm scarf that keeps your neck warm and cosy on colder days. It is made of knit and purl stitches.
The scarf is worked with 5,5 mm (US 9) (circular) needles and knitted back and forth.
To ensure that both sides look the same, you use the double knitting single yarn technique. Additionally, you knit the scarf in garter stitch.The scarf looks chic because of the simple design.
Finished measurements: around 150 cm / 58 inches in length (you can easily adjust the length).
Width: about 30 cm / 11,8 inches.
(Model on the picture is 1.75 m / 68 inches and the length of the scarf is 150 cm / 58 inches.)
Difficult level: beginner.
Skills required/ technique used: knit & purl, double knitting, cast-on and bind off.
Materials: the scarf is made with Royal Breigaren from the Zeeman (2 to 3 skeins of yarn). One skein is 100 gr = 241 metres. (The amount of yarn depends on how long you want to make the scarf).
Alternative yarn: Peruvian Highland Wool from Filcolana (50 gram = 100 m (110 yards).
Gauge/ needles: 5,5 mm (US 9) needles: 18 sts x 23 rows = 10 cm (4 inches) in pattern. (After blocking)
Sizes: one size.
